What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work properly, or to work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's owners.

Cookies do not contain executable code and cannot access other files on your device. They are read only by the website that set them (or related services it uses).

There are two main types based on lifespan:

  • Session cookies — temporary files that are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies — files that remain on your device for a defined period, or until you delete them manually.

Cookies We Use

We categorise our cookies into four types. Only essential cookies are active by default.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for the website to function. They manage your session, handle navigation, and power basic security features. They cannot be disabled.

Duration: Session & up to 1 year

Analytics Cookies

These help us understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are visited, where visitors come from, and how long they spend reading content. Data is aggregated and anonymised; no individual is identified.

Example: Google Analytics — Duration: up to 2 years

Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies track visits across websites to allow us to show relevant advertising and measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns. These are only active if you opt in.

Examples: Google Ads, Meta Pixel — Duration: up to 180 days

Preference Cookies

These remember choices you have made, such as language or display settings, so you do not need to re-select them on each visit.

Duration: up to 1 year

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by services that appear on our site or that we use to understand how it is performing. These third parties operate under their own privacy and cookie policies:

  • Google Analytics — website usage statistics (analytics category).
  • Google Ads / Meta Pixel — ad performance tracking (marketing category, if enabled).
  • Google Maps — embedded map on our contact page, which may set cookies when you interact with the map.

We do not sell or share personal data collected via cookies with third parties for their independent use.
